Man this is spooky! Seems every time I read the Bible I’m hearing Jordan Peterson.
The last time I heard Doctor Peterson’s themes, it was in the story of Noah, and Noah as the symbol of patriarchal culture, and the response of the three sons when he was passed out naked after getting drunk. Their response seems like the shadow of our response to our culture that has the same shame and weakness, yet it delivers us from chaos (the flood). The response of the three sons determines their futures and motivations for life.
Today I read in Zechariah chapter 8 where “The LORD” promises restoration of society (growth, safety, abundance, becoming a blessing to others) and it’s predicated on this command in verse 16 “These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgement in your courts; do not plot evil against your neighbour and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this declares the LORD”
Sounds familiar….
I think this is why I love Doctor Peterson so much, because he is channeling a very old soul.
Anyone know the name of the piano piece?
Have you found it? I’m going crazy looking for it.
Sonatina in G Major, Op. 20 No 2, For Piano: III. — Claudio Columbo
Still can’t find it, even with extensive search
Thanks. Here’s the exact part of the piece https://youtu.be/1SIqS8NuzYo?t=3m19s
It isn’t that I don’t think, I’ve found that one on spotify
Dr. Peterson my name is Anthony Chiozza. I was a teacher of science and history in the United States before becoming chronically ill five years ago. I have been listening to your content on suffering. Perhaps it was divine intervention that I came across your work before a piece of mine is published on suffering within the next several weeks. I have several articles published in the medical field regarding cancers. These articles were reviewed by board-certified oncologists before they published the content. Thus far that has been the extent of my professional career outside of teaching before becoming ill. The medical site I wrote for was once called lymphoma.about.com, but has since changed its name. If you are ever interested in having a conversation please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Also, there is a film you might consider seeing that addresses the same archetypes you discuss in some of your work. It is called, “Song of the Sea.” It was directed by Tomm Moore. I was searching for a way to introduce myself as I reside in Texas.
I think your ‘Maps of Meaning’ is absolutely brilliant! An earth hardened exquisite gem stone made of meaning. Thank you. I wish that, because of the knowledge I have attained for you, I want to give back to you in some way. Right now I am just too poor to give money but I have time. But it seems based on the this you are teaching, I think you probably just want people to actually pay attention and think for a change. Start making the world better by making ourselves better and I must agree that is the best way to make the world a better place to live in. The things you have to say just make so much sense to me but you are an intellectual giant whom soars above me. But thank you Dr. Peterson. You have changed my life in only a positive manner from everyway I try to analyze it! Honorable to say the least. Thank You
Hello, Mr. Peterson. I have recently learned of your encounter with protestors at McMaster, and I wish to apologize on their behalf. What they did was disheartening to say the least, and they demonstrated just as you said that the lack of protection of free speech usually ends with violence. Please know that most of the students on campus do not support their actions, and that they are sorry as well. I wish you the best of luck in the future.
Kind regards, Zach.
